IGOLAB - Augmented Survey
IgoLab is the web tool (mobile only) to which survey respondents will be sent. As the profile of the respondents is very diverse, the tool needs to be as clear and simple as possible, so that even someone who is not very comfortable with the web can use it. What's more, the tool is designed to collect opinions, so the interface needs to be as neutral as possible. For example, the entire interface should be in black, white and shades of gray. This avoids associating colors with opinions (green = positive, red = negative), or favoring products that could be tested (for example, if we want to compare two shoes, one yellow and one blue, the presence of a blue button on the interface could favor the blue shoe from the respondents' point of view). A progress bar is present on the interface to give the user an indication of the number of questions remaining. Like the rest of the interface, it has to be neutral, so we've made it black (as this makes it stand out more than grey). As the tool is intended to be used on a mobile web browser, it's important to provide areas reserved for the browser interface, so that developers don't have to readjust the design when putting it into real-life context.
